5.0 out of 5 stars The best car audio choice I have ever made, seriously, July 26, 2012
This review is from: Kenwood DPX308U Double Din WMA/MP3 CD Receiver (Electronics)
OK, so Im starting to loose faith in reviews of people on Amazon.com. I bought a Pioneer DEH4300 for my Altima and its the worst car stero I have ever owned, it doesnt look good, it has very poor sound quality and it basicaly sucks, for lack of a better word. And it has a 5 star rating! That is a freaking joke. I just had to say that because this particular stereo is in one word, amazing and it has a lower rating then the Pioneer. The sound quality you get from this stereo is just brillant. I listen to rap, rock, country and this thing makes my rockford fosgate speakers sing. When I get bored I just drive around in my truck listening to music for hours. Also I have 2 Kicker L5s and this stereo makes them come alive. Everytime someone gets it my truck they dont shut-up about how cool it looks in my Titan, especially at night. But during the day even when the suns beaming inside your car you can still see the screen unlike alot of stereos. This was the best audio decison I have ever... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great replacement Receiver, November 9, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Kenwood DPX308U Double Din WMA/MP3 CD Receiver (Electronics)
After using this new receiver for a couple of months, I like it so much I purchased another for our other car. I love the fact that it has a clock in the display, most aftermarket head units do not. And best of all, you can either let it cycle through the various colors on the display, or select a specific one to match the rest of your dash. Oh, and it sounds great, regardless the source, my MP3s on a flash drive, my MP3 player, or CD. I would recommend this head unit to anyone whose vehicle need a double-DIN sized unit.

Kenwood dpx308u car stereo review

First off I should say that the sound quality was excellent. It is good looking, and replaced my broken original equipment quite well. There were a few other things that I wish I would have known before I purchased the unit however.

Operation was OK but not stellar. Each button has multiple functions and it can be confusing as to what button to push to do what operation. For instance, push the number 6 radio button to pause a cd. This brings back memories of the ever popular VCR blinking 12:00 because no one can remember how to set the clock LOL. The volume knob also has multiple functions, if you push it in, so be careful when hitting a bump while adjusting the volume.

Straight out of the box there was a problem that needed to be fixed. The color select would not work if the unit was powered off. It reverted to cycling thru all the colors. After researching on the internet I found that I needed to perform a flash... Read more
